ALANNA MCQUAID, Founder & President
Alanna is a 30-year veteran of the travel and incentive travel industries. She has held senior-level positions within major Canadian tour operators, corporate travel and MICE companies. Most recently, she served the MICE market as the international business development manager for Meetings + Incentive Travel (M+IT), Canada’s leading magazine for business event professionals. During her tenure at M+IT she brought about significant growth for the magazine and its annual trade show, IncentiveWorks. Her knowledge and expertise in the international incentive group travel arena are impressive, and her endless enthusiasm for the industry is contagious. Alanna is a member of SITE Canada and has contributed articles on international destinations to Meetings + Incentive Travel.
Alanna is also the publisher of The Incentivist, a website and enewsletter created specifically for incentive travel professionals. The Incentivist will launch December 1, 2018.
LORI SMITH, Vice-President, Content
Lori is a well-travelled, experienced journalist and editor, who has covered a range of industries including travel, retail, meetings and incentives. She is a true communications professional. Creative, detail-oriented and knowledgeable, she is always calm under deadline pressure. Lori served as editor of Meetings + Incentive Travel (M+IT), Canada’s leading magazine for the MICE industry, from 2013 to 2018. During her tenure at M+IT, she earned her Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) designation. In addition to being vice-president of content for McQuaid Communications, Lori is editor-in-chief of The Incentivist, a website and newsletter created specifically for incentive travel professionals. The Incentivist will launch December 1, 2018.
DON BROMMET, Vice-President, Strategy
Don is one of Canada’s foremost experts on incentive travel. He founded Partners in Performance, a North American leader in performance marketing, rewards and recognition. Don was so successful, Maritz Canada purchased the company. Don then served as president of Maritz Canada and later moved to the U.K. to oversee Maritz International’s operations. He also launched the Elevate Incentives division at Pareto Corporation. Don was a founder of SITE Canada and has won more SITE awards than any other Canadian. He has significant experience in destination, hotel and venue selection from both the supplier and customer perspective. Don is now managing director of P3 International, an advisory organization that focuses on creating and implementing business solutions that have people performing to their potential. As vice-president of strategy for McQuaid Communications, Don can assess and advise on marketing strategy and collateral as well as overall brand effectiveness.
MATTHEW ROSS, Vice-President, Creative Services
Matthew is a creative director with over 25 years experience creating brands, providing strategies, and executions of creative concepts for companies ranging from Microsoft to Rogers Media. His success stems from a unique perspective on problem solving and the ability to execute the creative vision and provide tangible, measurable results. A passionate travel and magazine enthusiast, he is also the publisher of Wander, Canada’s largest Wellness Travel online magazine and the soon to be released Bamboo, a magazine which focuses on the growing sustainable travel segment.
